Tree & Shrub Healthcare in Brentwood, TN

Brentwood is one of the most heavily wooded suburbs in Middle Tennessee, and that canopy is a big part of why people move here. Lots are large, driveways wind through mature hardwoods, and it is normal to have a dozen or more significant trees on a single property. That also means Brentwood homeowners carry more tree responsibility than most, especially with tall tulip poplars and aging oaks standing over rooflines.

Homes and properties in Brentwood

Most Brentwood homes are brick traditional, colonial, and newer transitional builds set well back from the road. Many subdivisions were carved out of old farm woodlots in the 1980s and 1990s, so the trees are older than the houses. Construction grading, driveway installs, and pool projects often injured root zones decades ago, and those trees are now showing the delayed decline our arborists are called out to diagnose.

Trees we work on here

Common species here include white and red oak, tulip poplar, hickory, sugar maple, ash, and eastern red cedar in the rockier areas along the ridges. Ash trees throughout Brentwood are under emerald ash borer pressure and need treatment to survive. On thin limestone soil near the hills, drought stress is a frequent trigger for canopy thinning.

What the weather does to Brentwood trees

Brentwood catches the same spring storm lines as the rest of the county, and the combination of tall poplars with shallow roots and saturated clay is exactly how a healthy-looking tree ends up on a roof in June. Ice storms and the occasional hard freeze add winter limb loss.
